Teacher In-Service
We offer innovative and creative Teacher Workshops that will help educators gain the confidence needed to establish a successful Creative Writing Curriculum. Not only do we use the most effective writing techniques available, such as 6+1 Traits of Writing, but we also help teachers creatively integrate music, drama, and movement into their lesson plans. Our workshops are dedicated to helping teachers develop the tools to inspire writing in their classrooms as well as encouraging their own creative instincts.
Two Workshops are available:
A. Building a Brainstorm: a workshop dedicated to improving student writing through drama and improvisation. Learn how to implement improvisational drama, music and body movement in your classroom as tools to generate story ideas and character development.
B. The Art of Teaching Creative Writing: This workshop will help to inspire creativity and clarity in written composition through the integration of performing arts and writing technique. We are committed to helping teachers find the art of creativity in their classroom through the implementation of 6+1 Traits of Writing and the newest techniques for teaching Process Writing.
